London-based Camilla Yen is a Norwegian singer/songwriter with Vietnamese descent, born in 1995. Influenced by Lianne La Havas, Bernhoft, Esperanza Spalding and BANKS – her music can be described as a fine mixture of pop and R&B. The trilingual singer/songwriter is known for her personal and intimate songwriting- and vocal style.

At age 16, Camilla won the local songwriting competition, Melodi Grand Prix Ung, which was the moment she decided to pursue music as a solo artist. The same year she was granted the final diploma in classical piano. After 3 years of studying both vocal jazz and composition at Rud Upper Secondary School in Norway, she moved to London in 2015 to expand her knowledge, experience and artistry. While working on her upcoming debut EP, she has been gigging around London and even earned 2nd place in LoCo Music’s singer/songwriter competition June 2017.

Her debut single, ‘Denial’, was released in November 2016 and earned her a recommendation by the Norwegian national radio station, NRK P3. Camilla also received raving reviews from music blogs, like Blisspop and Eucalypt. The newest single, ‘Precious’, dropped in June 2017 and had its radio debut on the CNNCT show by Pardon My Fresh in New York. Furthermore, receiving brilliant reviews from IndiePulse, Give it a spin, Jade Oak Media, Musical Heartbeat, rBeatz, Beatforest and more, acknowledging her mature perspective in songwriting and unique vocals. ‘Precious’ has been radio played in over 30 countries around the globe since its release. Both singles were co-produced with ZEKL fka Eskil Dante. ‘Precious (Remix)’ by Ben Junction was released later that same year.

After playing the ERAS Festival 2017, she is continuing her BA (Hons) in Songwriting at British & Irish Modern Music Institute London, and is set to graduate in June 2018. Camilla’s debut EP was released in 2018.
